Submission Guidelines

 

W

e represent fiction, nonfiction, and computer books. We are interested in self-help, parenting, business, health and fitness, science, current events, narrative non-fiction, and other subjects. We do not represent poetry, children's literature (with a few, rare exceptions), or screenplays. Regarding fiction--we do not accept science fiction, thrillers or mysteries, nor do we accept submissions of unfinished manuscripts.  We are especially interested in women’s commercial fiction, literary fiction, and African American literary and commercial fiction.

·       Allow six to eight weeks for us to review your submission

·       Non-fiction submissions should include a query letter with a complete book proposal.  For fiction submissions we prefer to receive a detailed synopsis and two or three sample chapters rather than complete manuscripts.

·       We do accept electronic queries. But, do not send attachments in your emailed query.

·       We do not accept faxed submissions.

·       We do not charge a reading fee.

·       Always include return postage and an envelope if you want your submission back. Do not send originals or irreplaceable material. We cannot be responsible for unsolicited submissions.

 

Note: Many of our books come from ideas and proposals we generate in-house. We retain a proprietary interest in and control of all ideas we create and proposals we write.
